Little Shop Of Horrors

As you are all probably aware, the upcoming musical for Staughton College is Little Shop of Horrors! Our performances are fast approaching with opening night being next Thursday the 31st, with shows running until the 2nd of September. Our amazing cast has been working extremely hard since auditions almost six months ago, with afterschool and weekend rehearsals becoming longer and more frequent. Along with our talented cast, we are also lucky enough to have a dedicated crew of teachers and students to help create design aspects that put together the show.

Little Shop of Horrors, for those unfamiliar with the performance, is about Seymour Krelborn, a down-on-his-luck flower shop worker who stumbles across a strange, exotic plant known as the Audrey Two – named after Seymour’s colleague and crush Audrey. The catch however, is that Audrey Two can only thrive on human blood. The musical follows the lives of Seymour and Audrey, and their murderous plant.

The decision to put on Little Shop of Horrors this year has brought countless new opportunities to Staughton’s performing arts, such as the need for a smaller cast, meaning we are able to truly develop and show the acting, dancing and singing skills of our students. As well as the ability to use a live band, which have joined the students at rehearsals.

So much hard-work, dedication and talent has been, and continues to be put into every detail of the performance, making it one that the Staughton community is sure not to forget. With four shows over three days, tickets are limited and are available on the Staughton College website or on TryBooking via https://www.trybooking.com/QWIN. Tickets are $15 for Staughton students and children under 12, and $25 for adults.

Be sure to come down to support everyone involved in the creation of this year’s musical! It’s a fantastic show and definitely one not to miss. Hope to see you there!
